Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan T.D., officially launched Neil Brosnan’s collection of short fiction, Neap Tide & Other Stories, on Saturday evening. The event, kindly hosted by the Keane family at John B. Keane’s in Listowel, saw the general release of the collection’s first edition, limited to a run of 50 copies. Journalist and author, Billy Keane, was amongst the night’s readers. Also in attendance was Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin from writing.ie.
A former recipient of the prestigious Bryan MacMahon Short Story Award, Neil Brosnan has been published widely across Ireland, and indeed further afield. Commenting in the collection’s introduction, Billy Keane remarks: “Neil Brosnan has mastered his craft. His stories are timeless. His stories are universal.” A native of Listowel, Neil is also an accomplished songwriter, having numerous All-Ireland and World Fleadh Cheoil medals to his credit.
The collection is now available as an e-book, while a limited supply of the first edition still remain.
